About Melissa
I know these brains from the inside and the classroom.
I’m Melissa Wood, though many people know me as Ms. Laker. I’m a special education teacher and ADHD and neurodivergent coach. I also have ADHD and epilepsy, so this work connects professional experience with my own lived experience.
What I bring to the work
Knowledge without judgment.
I help parents understand how their child’s brain works and advocate for their needs. I also support neurodivergent adults as they figure out practical ways to make life feel more manageable. The goal isn’t to force anyone into someone else’s version of “normal,” but to find approaches that fit the person in front of us.
I create educational resources and write books to make these ideas easier to understand and use.
